About Musical Celebration
A saxophone fills the canvas at close range, cropped so the curved bell sweeps up from the lower left and the neck arcs away to the top right. The brass is built from amber, burnt orange and deep maroon strokes with white highlights dragged along the tube edges. A line of thick white dabs runs diagonally across the body as the keys, each one raised off the surface. Around the bell, short flicks of white and gold scatter outward like sound breaking loose into the air.
The background moves from a hot red glow behind the instrument to near black at the corners, with a dark green-black shape down the right edge. The mood is loud and warm rather than literal, a jazz instrument caught mid-note.
Suits a lounge bar area, home theatre, music room or a dining wall with dark timber and warm lamp light. The red and amber sit well against charcoal, black or deep grey paint, and against exposed brick. Pair it with brass fittings, leather seating or vinyl shelving in a portrait space beside a doorway.
