About Neon Dreaming H
A square composition built from loose watercolour washes. A dense band of indigo runs across the upper half, pooling into darker pockets and softening into teal where it drips down the centre. To the right, a charcoal-grey mass meets a burst of rust red and orange that runs off the top corner. The lower half is mostly pale cream and soft grey-green, with a faint circular ring visible where pigment has dried unevenly. A small ochre patch sits at the left edge.
The paper grain shows through the thinner washes, giving the pale areas a mottled, absorbent texture, while the indigo edges stay hard and crisp where the water stopped. It reads as weather or water seen from above: cool, quiet at the bottom, turbulent across the top, with the red corner supplying the one note of heat.
Suits a living room above a low sideboard, a bedroom over the bedhead, or a home office where a square format balances a bookshelf. The cream base sits easily against white, oatmeal or pale timber walls, and the indigo picks up navy linen, denim upholstery and brass or black metal fittings. Good in coastal and beach house interiors. Browse more blue art, multi-coloured art, orange art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
