About New Horizon
The view looks along a paved terrace on the right, past pots of pink, red and white blooms, to a curving shoreline on the left. Cream stucco villas with terracotta roofs step down the headland, one with an arched window and a small blue awning over a dark doorway. Behind them a green mountain ridge rises into pale blue sky, with hazy peaks further off. The water is laid in bands of turquoise and deeper blue, edged by a white line of surf against the rocks.
Paint is applied thickly with a knife, so the flowers, paving and foliage stand up off the canvas in short ridges that catch the light. The character is bright and warm, a sunny holiday scene built from colour blocks rather than fine detail.
Suits a dining room, hallway or open living area where a sunny view adds depth to a plain wall. It works with cream, sand or white walls, timber furniture, cane chairs and terracotta pots, and sits well above a sideboard or a long dining table. Good beside coastal blues and natural linen. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
