About Prion Beach Tasmania
The photograph is taken low and close to the sand, so the foreground fills the lower two thirds of the frame with wide golden flats marked by fine ripple lines, scattered footprints and small dark pieces of driftwood. A shallow tidal channel runs along the left edge, reflecting pale blue sky. Beyond it a long line of white surf breaks in shallow water, and sea spray softens the middle distance into a grey haze. Blue-green forested headlands and mountain ridges rise across the horizon, fading in layers as they recede.
The upper third is a clear, unbroken sky that deepens from pale blue near the hills to strong cobalt at the top. The character is bright, open and quiet, an unpeopled stretch of coast on a still, sunlit morning.
Works in a living room above a low sofa, a bedroom above the bedhead, or a beach house hallway. The gold sand and cobalt sky suit white or pale grey walls, timber and rattan furniture, linen in oatmeal or navy.
