About Vineyard Rows at Dusk
Rows of grapevines run from the lower right corner into the distance, drawing the eye across the frame. The vines are old and gnarled, with dark twisting trunks, wire trellis lines and fresh spring leaves catching light along the top of each row. Thick, unmown grass fills the foreground in bright yellow-greens, with a mown track curving along the left edge. Low blue hills sit on the horizon behind the furthest rows, softened by haze.
The upper half is given over to sky: clear blue low down, warming to lilac and dusty pink where thin cloud streaks across the top. It is a calm, wide-open rural scene with the quiet colour of late afternoon light.
Suits dining rooms, kitchens and wine areas where the vineyard subject sits naturally, and works in living rooms or a home office needing a restful outlook.
