A small white lighthouse with a red roof stands on a rocky headland at the right of the frame, backed by dark evergreen trees. The point runs out into the water, and its rock face catches a little warm light against the cool grey of the sea.
In the foreground, dark wet rocks crowd the lower left and bottom centre, with small ripples breaking around them. The water is calm and silvery, stretching to a faint line of distant hills. Thick, soft cloud fills the sky in muted greys and creams, in a quiet, subdued photograph.
