About Red Runway
A woman stands centred in the frame, seen from the chest down, her face hidden beneath the tilted brim of a wide red hat. She wears a fitted off-shoulder gown in scarlet and crimson, the bodice smooth and the skirt breaking into layered ruffles that sweep to the left and pool near her feet. One hand lifts a fold of fabric. Behind her, a city of grey and white blocks is suggested with flat scraped strokes, softened into a pale reflective foreground.
The red is laid on thickly with a knife, leaving raised ridges along the folds, while the background stays thin and muted so the figure reads as the only saturated note. Its character is quietly theatrical: a single bold colour against a washed grey street, restrained rather than loud.
Suits an entry hall, a bedroom wall above a dresser, or a dressing room and boutique fit-out. The grey background sits easily with concrete, pale timber and soft white walls, while the scarlet picks up red cushions, a burgundy rug or brass and black metal fittings.
