About Roman Numerals II
A square, tightly cropped view of an old clock dial fills the frame. Worn gold Roman numerals — XII, XI, X and IX — curve around the upper left and top edge, with a fine gold ladder-style minute track running above them. Two ornate hands meet just below centre: a long gold pointer with a pierced diamond tip aimed upper right, and a slimmer grey hand angled down. The dial itself is deep black, flecked and chipped so paler stone-coloured patches show through.
The character here is age and wear rather than polish. Cropping the dial off all four edges turns a functional clock into a graphic arrangement of gold shapes on black, with the surface damage doing most of the work.
Suits a home office, study or dining room where dark walls, timber and leather already feature. It works above a desk, sideboard or bar cart, and pairs naturally with its companion clock print, industrial metal shelving, brass lamps and black-framed photographs.
