About Spring Rain II
A square abstract built from loosely layered shapes in lime, pale yellow and cream. Left of centre sits a rounded pale blue form with a thin white line running through it and a single small cobalt blue mark at its edge. Dark forest green strokes cluster along the top edge and reappear as a rounded blob at upper right and as broad sweeps down the right side. Thin runs of paint drip vertically through the yellow field, and a soft sage oval floats at lower right.
The overall character is light and unforced, with translucent washes letting under-layers show through and visible directional streaks in the green. It reads as a garden glimpsed through rain rather than any fixed scene, calm but with enough dark green and that one blue dot to hold your eye.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms and dining rooms where you want colour without a strong subject, and works well in beach houses and light-filled contemporary rooms. Pairs with white or pale grey walls, natural timber, rattan and linen in cream or sage. Hang it above a low sideboard, a bedhead or a freestanding bath.
