About Sydney Opera House at Night
A long-exposure night view across Sydney Harbour. The Opera House sits left of centre, its overlapping shells lit white and cream against a deep navy sky, with a band of warm gold lighting along the podium and forecourt below. To the right the Harbour Bridge arch rises out of frame, its steel truss picked out in pale green light, an Australian flag on the pylon top catching a red and blue glow. Behind it, apartment towers and wharf lights glitter in small orange and white points.
The foreground is flat, almost glassy water carrying long vertical smears of gold, green and white reflection, broken only by a small buoy light. The overall character is calm and still: a familiar city view held quiet, with cool blue dominating and warm artificial light doing all the work.
Works in a living room above a dark timber sideboard, in a home office, or along a hallway where the wide format suits a long wall. The navy and gold sit well with charcoal upholstery, brass lamps and blue-grey walls. Pair it with other city or coastal night shots for a travel-themed grouping.
