About The Cove
The lower two thirds of the canvas is a wide field of red, brushed in long horizontal drags that darken to near black at the left edge and break into olive and mustard streaks on the right. A thin horizon line of scratchy black marks runs across the middle. Above it the upper band is pale, built from soft rectangles of white, grey-green, sand and dusty pink that overlap like washed-out blocks. A small black boat shape sits at the centre of the horizon, with fine drawn lines rising for masts and rigging.
The mood is quiet and pared back: a harbour reduced to a red plane, a pale sky and a few drawn lines, with texture coming from dry-brushed drags and thin trickles of paint running down the red.
Works in a lounge room or entry with white or grey walls, where the red becomes the single colour note. Pairs with dark timber, black metal and linen upholstery. Good above a low sideboard or a two-seater sofa, and steady enough for a boardroom or consulting room wall. Browse more abstract oil paintings, contemporary art.

The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
