About Thoughtful
A seated figure is seen from behind, filling most of the portrait canvas. The back, shoulder and hip are drawn with a single searching black contour, while the hair is a knot of scribbled loops falling over the neck. White and pale grey strokes run down the spine and across the thighs to suggest light, and soft charcoal shading pools under the arm and along the lower back. The background is a brushed field of mid grey with vertical streaks, scattered with stray ink lines, loose circular squiggles and small flicked spatters.
The character is quick and unfinished on purpose: a life-drawing gesture left raw, with the surrounding scribbles giving it movement rather than polish. Restrained grey keeps the mood calm and the black line does all the talking.
Suits a bedroom, ensuite or main bathroom wall, a hallway, or a dressing area where a single quiet figure works better than colour.
