About Tuscany Revisited I
A square abstract built from overlapping rectangles of colour. Sky blue and soft aqua dominate the upper half, interrupted by a broad sandy-taupe bar and a white horizontal band that runs across the width just above centre. A thin lemon-yellow line sits along the right of that band. Below, blocks of white, pale turquoise and deeper teal sit side by side, with a dark brown column anchoring the right edge and short vertical drags of pink and grey along the left.
Colour is applied in thin, dry layers so the weave of the canvas shows through almost everywhere, and edges between blocks stay soft rather than sharp. The overall character is quiet and weathered, like faded wall plaster, with the brown column and yellow line adding just enough contrast to hold the eye.
Suits coastal and beach house interiors, bathrooms, bedrooms and dining rooms with white or pale grey walls. The aqua and sand palette sits well with linen bedding, rattan, timber sideboards and brushed nickel or white frames. Hang as a single square above a bedhead, or pair with a second calm abstract in a matching size. Browse more blue art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
