About Tuscany Revisited II
A square abstract built from wide horizontal and vertical bands that overlap like torn strips of paper. Sky blue runs across the top edge and again through the middle, meeting blocks of sand, pale cream and a dark chocolate brown square just left of centre. The upper right corner is almost pure white, giving the composition its brightest point. Lower down, a narrow lemon yellow stripe and a thin band of green sit against grey-brown verticals, and the weave of the canvas shows through the thinner, dragged passages of colour.
The character is quiet and restrained: a grid that never quite lines up, with dry, streaked edges where one colour is pulled over another. Colours stay muted and coastal rather than bright, so the artwork reads as calm texture from a distance and reveals its layered blocks up close.
Works in a bedroom above a bed head, in a bathroom or a beach house hallway where the blue and sand tones suit tiles and timber. Pairs with pale oak, linen bedding, rattan and white walls.
