About Vintage Speed Boat
A close photograph looks across the open cockpit of a vintage timber speedboat. A cream-white steering wheel sits at the centre, its three curved spokes meeting a hub with a small horn button. Behind it, a polished mahogany dashboard carries a single round gauge with a chrome bezel and a white face. Narrow teak deck planks with pale caulking lines run away to the right, and a yellow vinyl seat cushion sits in the lower left corner, catching strong sunlight.
The image is hazy at the edges, with warm flare washing the top rail and the right-hand gunwale in orange and gold. Colours sit between mahogany brown, cream and soft yellow, with a thin strip of pale blue water and sky along the upper edge. Fine grain in the timber and the gloss on the varnished trim are still readable through the softness. It reads as a sunny, slightly faded holiday photograph rather than a crisp technical shot.
The wide panoramic shape suits a hallway, a wall above a sideboard, or a long space over a bed. It fits beach houses, boat sheds and coastal living rooms, and works with timber furniture, rattan, linen in cream or sand, and brass or chrome fittings. Pair it with other vintage travel or water photographs. Browse more brown and earthy art, orange art, yellow art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
