About Watercolour Stripes B
Around sixteen horizontal bands are stacked down a white portrait format, each one a single wide sweep of watercolour with soft feathered ends and a slightly wavering edge. The sequence shifts gradually in colour: soft lilac and mauve at the top, then deeper violet and indigo through the middle, moving into slate blue and teal, and finishing in muted olive-grey and cool graphite at the base. Thin white gaps separate most bands, while a few touch and bleed into each other.
Within each stripe the pigment pools unevenly, darker along one edge and almost transparent along the other, so the paper tone shows through in patches. The overall character is calm and orderly, a simple colour study that reads as a quiet gradient from soft purple to stormy grey.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms and ensuites, home offices and hallways where a cool, quiet wall is wanted. The lilac-to-grey run works with white or pale grey walls, oak and rattan furniture, linen bedding and brushed nickel fittings. Pair it with a plain white or natural timber floating frame and keep nearby decor uncluttered. Browse more purple and pink art, silver and grey art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
