About Wild Life I
A back-lane scene fills the frame: layered brick and concrete walls covered in overlapping graffiti pieces, bubble letters and tags in yellow, red, blue and purple. On the left, a grey apartment facade with a shuttered window and small balcony sits above a shopfront whose glass carries more spray work. In the centre a small figure in a hat and hooded jacket sits alone on the pale footpath, with rubbish bags beside him and a dark pole leaning across the wall. Behind, a black city silhouette stands against a deep red and crimson sky.
Foreground details include a rusted corrugated fence lying on its side, a bicycle and a figure sketched in ink near the kerb, and a brown earthy wall to the right. The texture reads as fine pen linework over washes of colour, with the graffiti lettering flat and bright against the muted grey concrete. The mood is quiet rather than chaotic: one small person in a loud, painted-over laneway at dusk.
Suits a teen bedroom, a games or media room, a home office, or a hallway in an apartment with concrete, brick or dark timber finishes. It works with black metal shelving, leather seating and industrial lighting, and holds its own above a low sideboard or a sofa in grey or charcoal.
