About White Blossom Trio
Three round flowerheads sit high on the right of a warm grey field, drawn with looping black outlines and filled with thick white paint that has been dragged and scraped so the grey shows through. Long, straight black stems run down almost to the bottom edge. The left quarter of the canvas is a vertical band of dark brown broken by a rough grid of ochre-yellow squares, applied dry so the brush marks stay visible. Small ink circles and two pale blue-grey discs float across both halves.
Faint rows of scribbled marks, like handwriting, run across the grey behind the stems. The overall effect is quiet and graphic, with the ochre band giving the composition its only strong colour.
Suits a hallway, bedroom or dining nook where the wall is white, oatmeal or pale grey. The ochre band picks up mustard cushions, tan leather and timber furniture, while the black linework sits well with matte black frames, iron lamps and simple ceramics. Good as a single portrait-format piece above a console or sideboard. Browse more floral art, earthy tones, contemporary art.
