About Rainbow Flamingo Gathering
Six flamingos stand across a pale, wash-like background. Two on the right are the most solid, painted in deep rose and coral with flecks of blue, gold and white through their backs, their black-tipped beaks turned inward. The central group is looser: two curving necks meet to form a heart shape, their bodies broken into strokes of lilac, sky blue, orange and yellow. A lower bird dips its head into the foreground, while a paler flamingo fades at the left edge.
The backdrop is thinned paint that runs in vertical drips of mint green, violet and aqua, speckled with fine gold and grey spatter. It reads as light and airy rather than heavy, with the birds' legs trailing off into the wash.
Suits a bright living room, a hallway with white or pale grey walls, a child's bedroom or a nursery. It works above a light timber sideboard or a pale sofa, and pairs with rattan, linen and brass.
