About Bicycle II
A square composition built around a black line drawing of a penny farthing bicycle, its tall front wheel filling most of the frame with fine radiating spokes, a curved handlebar, a slim saddle post and a small trailing rear wheel. The background is a deep scarlet red, brushed unevenly so darker crimson and brighter orange-red patches show through. A black vertical band runs down the left edge. Loops of pale cream and yellow handwriting drift across the surface like an old letter, and a soft red shape floats at the right.
Along the bottom sits a printed caption in serif type reading "FIG. 1.—Ordinary (bicycle with solid tires)", borrowing the look of an antique reference plate. The result is graphic and bold, a museum-catalogue diagram lifted onto a loud red ground.
A strong single hit of red for a home office, study or gentleman's room, and an easy pick above a desk or hallway console. It suits industrial and eclectic interiors, dark timber, black metal shelving and leather. Pair it with the matching bicycle print, or hang it in a teenager's room alongside other vintage diagrams.
