About Blue Velour I
A tall portrait composition filled with poured, marbled colour. The upper two thirds are dominated by a broad cream and off-white swirl that curls over on itself like a breaking wave, its interior marked with fine grey ripples that follow the direction of the flow. Below and to the left, a deep denim blue band sweeps diagonally across the canvas and breaks into paler dusty blue ribbons along the lower edge, where the tones thin out into soft washes of grey-blue and pale sky.
Threads of metallic gold trace the boundary where white meets blue, pooling into small flecks near the centre-right and along the lower diagonal. The surface reads as glossy and liquid, with feathered edges and no hard lines anywhere in the image. Its character is calm and weightless, more water than stone, with just enough gold to keep the cool palette from feeling flat.
Suits bedrooms, bathrooms and coastal or beach house interiors where blue and white already appear in linen, tiles or joinery. Works above a bed, a freestanding bath or a hallway console. Pairs with pale timber, brushed brass tapware and cream upholstery, and hangs well as a portrait pair with a second fluid marble print.
