About Boat City Wall Art Print

A row of high-rise towers runs the full width of the picture, sketched in slate blue, charcoal, tan and soft brown, with a tall spired skyscraper at the right and antenna-topped towers near the centre. The sky above is left almost bare, a warm off-white that lets the buildings read as a silhouette band. Below the waterfront, a wide harbour fills the lower half in washes of pale aqua and turquoise, streaked with white where the water catches light. Five sailing boats with tall white triangular sails sit at different depths across the bay.

The mood is light and airy rather than grand: the water is thinly worked, the towers are suggested with quick vertical strokes, and the empty sky keeps the whole scene calm. It reads as a bright summer afternoon on the water looking back at the city.

Suits a coastal-style living room, a beach house hallway or a home office wall above a desk. The aqua water sits well with white walls, linen sofas, rattan and pale timber, while the grey and brown towers pick up charcoal cushions or a dark bookshelf. Works above a sideboard or a low bedhead. Browse more blue art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
