About Brighton Bandstand Dusk
A cast-iron seafront bandstand sits slightly right of centre, its octagonal canopy ringed with ornate fretwork and lit from within by warm gold lamps. The domed roof carries a small finial and a band of olive and cream panelling. Slender columns in green and gold hold the structure above a promenade deck. Behind it the sky fills with layered blue-grey cloud, broken near the horizon by a pale strip of light over flat, dark sea. The foreground is a wide paved walkway edged with green and white railings.
The character here is quiet and atmospheric: a small pocket of warm electric light holding its own against a big, heavy evening sky.
Suits a hallway, home office or bedroom where the deep blue tones can sit against white, pale grey or soft green walls.
