About Letters to Paul I
The composition is divided into vertical zones. Down the left sits a grey stripe beside a narrow mustard band ruled with short dark rungs, like a ladder or measuring tape. The wide centre holds stacked horizontal bands: charcoal and black at the top, a chalky white break, then deep gold and ochre through the middle, followed by soft grey-green, near-black and tan towards the base. A bright teal vertical strip runs down the right against brown, ending in a small checked grid of yellow, grey and teal squares.
