This portrait abstract is built from stacked horizontal bands that read like a desert horizon. A wide field of deep crimson fills the middle, its surface mottled and uneven. Above it sits a thin charcoal-brown strip with a dotted line of yellow flecks, then a ragged dark edge like distant scrub.
The upper third lightens into a pale grey-white sky that fades into a band of mustard yellow. A rust-brown strip with a blistered texture runs along the top edge. At the base, bands of olive, burnt orange and dark brown settle the composition. The finish looks layered and washed, with visible staining and a small signature at the lower right.
