About Bugling Elk Silhouette
A bull elk stands in profile at the centre of this square artwork, head tipped back and muzzle lifted as if calling, with a wide rack of antlers branching to the right. The animal is filled with warm brown, rust and ochre tones that shift to near-black along the chest and legs. Behind him the background is built from vertical drags of grey, silver-white and pale cream, streaked like weathered timber or mist. A low band of dark brown and olive ground runs across the base, with a scrubby bush to the right.
The finish reads as layered and worn: dry scraped marks, patches of exposed lighter tone and soft edges where the elk's outline blurs into the ground. The overall character is quiet and rugged rather than decorative, with the warm animal shape holding against a cool, washed-out backdrop.
Suits a living room above a leather sofa, a home office, or a hallway where a single strong shape works better than a group. It pairs with timber furniture, tan leather, wool throws and black metal frames, and the grey background keeps it easy beside concrete, stone or white walls in a beach house or bedroom. The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
