About Fashionable Kiss III
A square, closely cropped portrait shows a woman's face from the nose down, tilted slightly, with a dark lipstick bullet held to her parted mouth. The image is built from flat blocks of colour rather than shading: cream and taupe planes map the cheeks, chin, neck and shoulder, with deep maroon used for the shadow lines. The lips are painted in two reds, the fingernail matches, and a black shape reads as hair or a garment falling down the right side. A turquoise band fills the background.
The mood is cool and graphic. Fine canvas texture shows through the flat colour fields, and the visible directional strokes in the turquoise and black areas keep the reduced palette from looking mechanical.
Suits a bedroom, dressing area, walk-in robe or powder room, and works in a home office or salon reception. The turquoise reads well against white or pale grey walls, while the taupe and maroon tones sit comfortably with timber furniture, brass hardware and a mirrored or upholstered dresser.
