About Final Stop
A rust-red diesel locomotive faces straight out of the frame, filling the centre of a portrait composition. The number 2962 appears twice on white plates either side of the nose, with two windscreen panels above and a headlight housing between them. The lower half of the engine is a heavy silver and charcoal pilot with a chain-link grille. Steel tracks and grey timber sleepers run toward the viewer along the bottom third, while thin overhead wires cut diagonally across the pale blue-grey sky.
Behind the engine, a blurred city skyline dissolves into smoky grey and brown washes, so the locomotive reads as the only solid form. The artwork has a slightly weathered surface, with streaky tonal variation across the red body panels and soft edges where the haze meets the steel. Its character is quiet and industrial rather than dramatic, a single machine held still at the end of the line.
Suits a home office, study or gentleman's room where the red body panels lift grey and charcoal walls. Works in a teen or kids room with a transport theme, and in an entry hall above a timber console. Pairs with leather, black metal shelving, industrial lamps and other mono or earthy prints.
