About Flinders Street Station at Night
The frame is filled by Flinders Street Station lit from below at night, its sandstone facade glowing warm gold against a flat black sky. The copper dome sits left of centre above the arched entrance, with the clock tower and a long row of lit windows running back to the right. Red traffic signals, a street lamp with a starburst flare and small crowds on the corner sit at street level. Across the foreground, vehicle headlights and tram lights have been drawn into continuous blue and white streaks over grey asphalt.
The character is urban and kinetic: a still, familiar building held steady while the traffic in front of it dissolves into ribbons of light. Contrast is high, with deep blacks framing the gold stonework.
Works in a home office, hallway or lounge room where a dark accent wall or charcoal paint lets the gold facade carry the room. Suits industrial and contemporary interiors with black metal frames, leather seating and concrete or timber floors. Pairs with other city and landmark prints, or hangs alone above a sideboard.
