About Fresh Bloom Aqua II
A single open flower sits centred on a plain white ground, its petals fanning wide across the top half of the square. Washes of aqua and pale turquoise pool along the upper petal edges, while warm gold pigment bleeds through the centre and lower petals. Deeper cobalt blue collects in small pockets near the flower's throat, and fine dark ink lines trace the petal veins and outline. A slim gold stem drops straight down, carrying two soft leaves, one pale lavender-blue and one washed in gold.
The paint edges stay wet-looking and irregular, with visible bloom marks where colour has spread and dried, and flecks of gold catching across the leaf on the right. Nothing is filled in solidly; the white of the background reads through the thinner washes. The character is light and unfussy, a quiet botanical study that keeps plenty of empty space around the single stem.
Suits bathrooms, bedrooms and hallways where the wall is light and you want colour without weight. It works in coastal and Hamptons rooms, above a white vanity or a bedhead, and pairs with pale timber, rattan, linen bedding and brass tapware. Hang as a pair or a set of three squares along a corridor. Browse more blue art, green art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
