About Geode III
A square abstract split by a soft horizon. The upper third is pale white and cool grey-blue, flecked with fine dark speckles and drifting rust-coloured specks, like a wide sky. Below it, ribbons of warm gold and ochre run sideways in long wavering bands. The lower two thirds fill with marbled swirls of deep teal and petrol blue, threading between sandy gold fields and pockets of near-black. Thin white veins curl through the blue like currents caught mid-turn.
The paint appears poured and tilted rather than drawn, so every edge is a soft feathered boundary and no two lines repeat. Its character is calm but restless: a quiet sky above, and a busy, mineral-rich ground of blue and gold that rewards a close look.
Works above a bed, a hall console or a bathroom vanity where the blue reads as water. The gold and ochre suit oak, rattan and linen in beach house and coastal rooms, while the cool grey sky keeps it comfortable against white or pale grey walls. Pairs well with brass fittings and a second square abstract. Browse more blue art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
