About Gilded Buddha II
A Buddha head and shoulders fills the centre of this square artwork, rendered in watery teal and soft blue with the serene face tilted slightly forward, eyes closed and lips faintly curved. Green washes bloom behind the head and fade into a cream background at the edges, so the figure appears to emerge from mist. The topknot is built from clustered blue and green marks, touched with gold that also runs down the right ear and along the shoulder and chest.
Textures read as thin watercolour bleeds, dry-edged washes and small scraped marks across the shoulders, with pale outlines drawn around the ear and jaw. The overall character is quiet and meditative rather than decorative, with the gold providing the only warm note in an otherwise cool blue-green palette.
Suits a bedroom above the bedhead, a yoga or meditation corner, a hallway or a calm home office. Works with pale walls, rattan, linen bedding and timber furniture, and sits well beside indoor greenery. The square format also fits a bathroom or beach house wall where cool blues and greens already appear. Browse more blue art, green art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.

The quality of the work is ten out of ten. The piece was affordable and the turnaround time was quite quick. What you see is what you get. I’ll definitely be getting my next painting from Direct Art Australia.
My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
