About Gold Pineapple on Black II
A single pineapple sits centred on a near-black background, rendered in warm metallic gold. The fruit's body fills the lower two thirds of the frame, its diamond-patterned skin broken up by pale cream highlights where the gold catches light and deeper ochre in the shadowed hollows. Above it, the crown splays outward in long pointed leaves, some leaning left and right, forming a spiked silhouette against the dark ground. The background is not flat: it lightens slightly behind the fruit and deepens to charcoal at the corners, giving a soft vignette.
The character is graphic and bold, with a single strong shape carrying the whole composition. The contrast between the foil-like gold and the matte black keeps it clean rather than busy.
