About Golden Road
A narrow band of pale yellow runs from the top edge and widens as it drops toward the lower centre, where it spreads into ochre and olive-gold segments that fan out to the bottom right. Deep red fills the rest of the canvas, broken by thin dark lines that curve like arcs and divide the surface into large panels. A shallow red dome rises from the right side, its face flecked with orange. The left margin carries fainter scratched marks pressed into the paint.
The surface is heavily worked: the red areas hold a gritty plaster-like tooth, while the gold section is combed with fine vertical striations that catch light. It reads as a bold, warm geometric abstract with a strong diagonal pull through the centre.
Works well above a dark timber sideboard, a leather sofa or a dining table in a room with white or grey walls. The warm reds sit comfortably with black steel, brass lighting and jute rugs.
