About Green Island Cairns
Shot from the air, a small wedge-shaped coral cay sits just off centre, crowded with dark green tropical vegetation and edged by a bright white sand rim. A narrow jetty runs from the left-hand beach out over shallow water to a cluster of small white boats moored at its end. Around the island the reef flat spreads in mottled tan, olive and grey patches, broken by pale sand channels, while deeper water at the top and left of the frame turns strong cobalt blue.
The photograph reads as clear mapped colour: banded turquoise shallows against dense green canopy, with fine detail in the coral texture and the wake lines near the boats.
Suits beach houses, coastal bedrooms and holiday apartments, and works well in a bathroom or hallway where the turquoise lifts white walls.
