A single flower drawn in black ink on a white ground, tipped so the head hangs towards the left and the petals fall downward. Each petal is outlined in a thin wobbling line and filled with long, curved stripes that run from the base to the tip, some solid black, others a pale brown-grey wash.
The centre is a dense cluster of ink blots with ragged, feathered edges, and a trail of round dots arcs out to the upper right like stamens. A thick, uneven black stem bleeds down the bottom left with drips along its edge. There is no colour beyond black, white and a faint sepia tone, and the white paper is left bare around the flower.
