About Into the Blue
A square composition set against a mottled wash of slate blue and grey, darker toward the corners and lighter behind the boat, so the centre reads almost like open water meeting mist. In the middle sits a small rowing boat built from cream and tan paper printed with handwriting, book pages and fragments of type, including a large letter W on the figure's back. The rower, also cut from printed paper, leans forward with both hands on oars that stretch to the edges of the frame, each finished with a pale blade.
