A square composition built from loose watercolour washes that bleed into one another and fade to bare white paper at the lower right. Running roughly through the centre is a horizontal band of charcoal and rust brown, dense at the left where it pools almost black, then breaking into copper edges as it drifts right. Above and below it sit soft duck-egg blue, sand and pale ochre pools, with granulating pigment leaving speckled edges. A small scatter of dark ink flecks sits in the upper left, and the paper's cold-press grain shows through the thinner areas.

The effect is of a shoreline or distant island seen through haze, with the horizontal band reading as land and the washes as water and sky. Quiet and low-contrast, it holds interest through the pigment settling and pooling rather than through any hard drawn line.
