About Red Blossom Tree
A single slender tree leans in from the lower centre, its black trunk curving like an S and thickening as it rises before disappearing into the canopy. The crown spreads across the upper two thirds of the canvas in hundreds of separate red blossoms, each built from four or five thick palette-knife petals with a small cream-white dot at the centre. Loose petals trail down the left side and fall away toward the lower corner, thinning out against the background.
The background is laid in short square strokes: cool pale blue and white on the left, warm rust orange and brick on the right, so the red flowers read bright and cool on one side and deep on the other. The paint sits high off the surface, catching light along every petal edge. Its character is bold and decorative, with enough texture to hold attention up close.
Works over a sideboard in an entry hall, above a bed with white or grey linen, or on the feature wall of a living room with neutral walls. The rust half ties it to timber floors, tan leather and terracotta pots; the blue half sits well with soft grey sofas and brushed silver or black metal frames.
