A square, black and white view looks up at the Clock Tower of the Palace of Westminster, better known as Big Ben. The spire, pointed roof and Gothic stonework are drawn in sharp detail, and two clock faces with Roman numerals catch the eye in the middle of the tower. The tower rises out of a soft grey mist at the base.
Behind the tower sits a layer of ephemera. Faded lines of looping handwritten script run down the left side, and a round London postmark at upper right reads "LONDON", "ENGLAND" and "10.VII.34" with a small crown and star. A larger ghosted stamp fades into the grey at left. Across the base, distressed white capitals spell "LONDON".
