About Cigar Boss Frenchie
A French bulldog fills the square canvas head-on against a plain off-white ground. The head is blocked in black with patches of grey-green and teal across the muzzle and brow, and the dog wears wide black sunglasses that cover most of the upper face. Both upright ears are filled with printed newspaper text, and the left ear carries a row of thick dabs in red, orange, blue and green. A cigar, also patterned with newsprint, is clamped in the jaw with a small red burning tip.
Below the chin a scarf runs in ridges of heavy paint, orange, white, green, blue and pink, beside a lilac patterned panel. A red shape and a brown collar sit at the shoulders, with black paint left to run down in drips toward the base. The mood is deliberately cheeky, a cool, slightly gangster dog portrait that keeps its humour without tipping into cartoon.
Suits a living room, home bar, games room or study where you want a talking point rather than a quiet landscape. Works well on white or pale grey walls, above a leather sofa or a dark timber sideboard. Pairs with black-framed photography, brass lamps and mid-century furniture.
