About Toucan Family on a Wire
Four cartoon-like toucans sit along a single thin wire that runs straight across the middle of the canvas. The largest bird is on the right, leaning forward with a huge yellow and blue beak, a patchwork body of pink, green and violet, dark brown wings and heavy orange feet. On the left, a second toucan with a yellow, orange and red beak turns towards a smaller chick beside it. A tiny bird sits at the centre, dwarfed by the others. Behind them the sky is painted in graduated blues with soft, dabbed white clouds.
The mood is light and comic. Thick, bright strokes on the beaks and plumage stand against the smooth, airy sky, giving the birds an almost sculpted look.
Suits children's bedrooms, playrooms and nurseries, and works just as well in a kitchen, laundry or family hallway that needs colour. The strong blue background sits well against white or pale grey walls, and pairs with timber furniture, primary-coloured toys, or other animal and pop art pieces. My wife already had a couple of pieces of custom ordered paintings she had collected throughout the last few years and with your large selection to choose from she found the perfect complimentary piece to finish off her room.
