About Rainbow Rider I
A square canvas shows the front half of an old roadster bicycle, cropped so the handlebars sit near the top right corner and the front wheel fills the lower half. The tyre and rim are painted as a broken chain of colour blocks: crimson, orange, yellow, cobalt, violet and black, laid down in short flat strokes rather than a continuous line. Spokes radiate from a small silver hub as thin ruled lines in red, blue, black and ochre. The forks, crossbar and headstem repeat the same patchwork colours.
The background is bare off-white with faint grey tonal shifts, so the bicycle reads as a graphic silhouette. Brake cables loop in fine black line work above the mudguard. The character is light and playful, a simple everyday object turned into a colour study.
Suits a hallway, home office or a teenager's room, and works well above a bike rack or bench seat in an entry. The pale background keeps it easy against white or light grey walls, and the colour patches pick up red cushions, timber floors and black metal shelving.
