About Marbling Blue Water
A portrait abstract built from pooled turquoise and deeper teal that spreads diagonally from the upper right down to the lower left. White gaps cut through the colour like foam on shallow water, leaving hard edges where the pigment has stopped and thin veins where it has run. Clusters of small dark ink dots gather in the upper right and again through the centre, some with soft haloes. Sandy gold and warm brown wash into the lower left corner and along the top edge.
The character is fluid and cellular rather than drawn: nothing is outlined, and every shape comes from colour meeting colour. Seen from a distance it reads as aerial reef water; up close it is a map of pours, speckles and bare white canvas.
Suits a bathroom, ensuite or beach house hallway where the turquoise picks up tiles and water. Works in a bedroom above a bedhead with white linen, or in a living room against pale grey or limewashed walls. Pairs with rattan, light oak, brass fittings and sandy textured rugs.
