About Marilyn Pop Collage
A black and white portrait of a laughing blonde woman in a dark halter dress fills the lower half of the composition, her lips picked out in glossy red and a band of scribbled white marks scratched across her eyes. Behind her sits a layered collage: a torn page of faded handwritten text, a second ghosted face in heavy black and grey tones, a strip of masking tape and the number 871 in bold yellow. Streaks of blue and red run across the top edge like torn poster remnants.
The character here is deliberately rough and unfinished, with visible tears, smudges and scrawl sitting over a familiar glamour image. It reads as a wall of pasted posters rather than a tidy portrait, and a small handwritten signature line sits at the lower right.
Suits a living room with dark timber and leather, a home office, or a bedroom that leans contemporary rather than traditional. The black, white and red palette works against white, charcoal or concrete-look walls, and pairs with chrome shelving, vinyl collections, monochrome photography and a single red or yellow cushion to echo the accents.
