About Milky Way over the Sea
A weathered timber jetty runs from the bottom edge of the square frame straight into the distance, its planks catching a faint light so the grain, gaps and nail lines are all visible. A handrail on the right leans in towards the vanishing point, its posts dropping into water that has been smoothed to a flat grey sheet. At the end of the walkway sits a small covered shelter, reduced almost to silhouette. Above it the Milky Way sweeps diagonally across a star-scattered sky, the bright galactic core sitting just off centre.
The mood is quiet and still, closer to a long held breath than a view. Deep blacks, soft mid-greys and pinpoint white stars give the image a calm, slightly solemn weight.
Suits bedrooms, hallways and home offices where you want a calm, dark focal point. Works in a beach house above a bedhead or console, and sits well with white or grey walls, pale timber, linen bedding and black metal lamps.
