About City of Colour Blocks
The square canvas is divided into broad fields of colour that read like building faces seen at close range. The upper left is a patchwork of golden yellow squares, each brushed slightly differently so paler and ochre patches sit side by side. To its right a band of slate grey runs vertically, and beyond it a deep crimson field spreads across the top corner, softened by streaks of white dragged through the red. The lower half is built from stacked pale grey and lavender rectangles.
Small accents break the grid: a burnt orange block with a blue-grey upright beside it near the centre, a scratchy white panel with fine dark lines to the right, a mustard and navy shape at the bottom edge. Brushwork is flat and squared off, with visible drag marks and thin paint letting under-layers show. The overall character is calm and architectural, warm reds and yellows balanced by cool grey masonry.
Suits a living room with grey or white walls, a dining room above a sideboard, or an office reception. The yellow and crimson lift neutral sofas, oak timber and linen.
