About Rose Quartz Hills
Washes of translucent colour stack into a range of soft hills across a square format. The upper third is left almost bare, a warm off-white sky with faint speckles in the paper surface. Below it, pale rose and mauve ridges overlap, each edge marked by a darker line where one wash settled against another. Mid-picture, cool slate blue and charcoal bands cut across the warm tones, with a small pocket of near-white showing through between them. The lowest band is a deep wine red that sweeps from the left corner down and out of frame.
The character is quiet and atmospheric rather than graphic: colours bleed and pool instead of sitting in hard shapes, so the hills read as haze and distance. The blue-grey against the burgundy gives it weight without becoming heavy.
Suits a bedroom above a bed head, a dining room wall, or a home office where you want colour without pattern. The burgundy and slate pair well with oak, rattan and linen in warm neutrals, and hold their own against off-white or clay-coloured walls. Hang as a single square, or make a pair with another muted abstract. Browse more blue art, brown and earthy art, or read Art above the bed: what size and how high.
