About On Edge Revisited I
The square composition is built from horizontal bands that read as a coastline seen side on. A hazy sky of mustard, grey and soft green fills the top quarter, streaked with fine vertical drips. Below it sits a wide cream band with a ragged, torn upper edge, then a dark strip of brown and near-black rock marked with rust and olive patches. A second pale band of sand tones spreads across the lower half, and beneath that turquoise shifts into deep denim blue.
The surface looks worn and weathered, with mottled colour, scraped patches and chalky white edges where each band meets the next. Its character is calm and elemental: a coastline reduced to colour, line and texture rather than detail.
Suits a beach house lounge, a coastal-toned bedroom or a bathroom with timber and white tiling. The turquoise base pairs with linen bedding, rattan and pale oak, while the brown and ochre bands sit well against terracotta tiles, jute rugs and brass fittings.
