About On Edge Revisited II
The square composition is built from six horizontal bands stacked like strata. A hazy ochre and grey-green sky fills the top third, streaked with pale cloud-like scrapes. Below it sits a broad cream and sand-toned band, then a clear panel of soft teal. Further down, a dark brown band carries rust and olive streaks, followed by a chalky white layer marked with a fine dotted grid, and finally a deep blue-grey base flecked with gold. Ragged white edges separate each band like torn paper.
Its character is quiet and weathered, closer to a sun-bleached shoreline seen in cross-section than to any literal view.
Suits coastal and beach house interiors, bedrooms above a bed head, and bathrooms with timber vanities. The teal and ochre bands work with linen bedding, rattan, pale oak and brushed brass. A single 90 x 90cm square holds a narrow hallway wall or sits well above a low sideboard in an open living area.
